I was privilege to be involved in the development of the Sniper Elite 5 multiplayer no-cross map 'The Dam' as part of Flix Interactive's collaboration with Rebellion.
Set within an abandoned and crumbling German hydroelectric dam that was partly destroyed by Allied bombers, I was primarily responsible for 'Zone B' - the inner quadrant which comprises some of the key water processing facilities including the powerhouse, sedimentation tanks, silos, maintenance building and staff quarters.
Taking the scene from white box to polish, I was responsible for modelling (the grounds, pumping station and staff quarters building), vert painting, set dressing, lighting, decal placement, tech mesh as well as some bug fixes. I also assisted design with the very early whiteboxing, provided some set dressing support to other areas in the map and carried out the level's lighting and decal optimisation passes.
The sedimentation tanks were created by Luke Odufona, Charlie Horn supplied the maintenance building model and added the staff quarters' exterior materials as part of visual cohesiveness pass. The small white industrial building, and ivy overgrowth in the powerhouse were added by Sean Thomas. The watch tower and adjacent office building exterior were provided by Rebellion.
It was so much fun to see this map come to fruition and I'm so happy with the outcome! A massive thanks to my talented colleagues who were involved and a pleasure to work with. Credit to Rebellion for assets and textures.
